Tanuki (Japanese: 狸 or タヌキ) is the Japanese name for a raccoon dog. Outside Japan, it is the name of traditional Japanese beast-shifters, which in Japan itself are called bakedanuki (Jap. 化け狸).
China under the glittering lights and silhouettes of ancient buildings, nocturnal China comes alive.
Narrow alleys are filled with the aromas of street food, mystical lanterns illuminate the secrets of the past. Under the moon, shadows dance their dance of calligraphy on ancient walls, leaving traces of their art in the air.
Batgirl raced on, fighting evil. Her eyes, glittering in the darkness, were full of determination. The silhouette of her black costume with purple and yellow inserts became a symbol of night vigilance. She was a shadow in the darkness, ready to protect the city from sinister threats.
In the depths of the sea realm, Aquaman leads his people to new greatness. Battles with powerful enemies and thrilling adventures are just the beginning of his incredible journey to save the ocean and his royal share.

36 Days of Type is a “yearly open call exploring the creative boundaries of letterforms, where participants are challenged to design a letter or number each day for 36 consecutive days, as a global and simultaneous act showing the outcome of the ability to represent the same symbols from thousands different perspectives.”

For the 2021 edition I decided to explore surreal landscapes that evokes a contemplative state of mind. The key elements to achieve such vibe were the usage of geometric shapes, gradients and scale, to manipulate the atmosphere of each piece.

Enjoy this journey.
