Houda Bakkali’s artworks are the result of a complex creative process that combines photography, vector illustration, digital collage, animation and acrylic. She creates dual pieces where the 1/1 canvas is complemented by an immersive, interactive and multimedia augmented reality version that the audience can enjoy in any space at any time by scanning the artwork. The artwork is brought to life in a physical space, creating a unique and highly exclusive experience that allows you to enter into the elements of each piece, discovering its layers, animations, sounds, shapes and multimedia and interactive elements. The use of Augmented Reality makes it possible to add a new dimension to the pieces, creating a personalised aesthetic capable of embellishing and enriching the canvas in an exclusive and infinite way, as infinite as the imagination dictates.
I’m very grateful to Alliance Française of Saudi Arabia for introducing my art with so much respect and professionalism in my beloved Saudi Arabia. This is my first ever exhibition in Saudi Arabia, a very special experience to share my art, my creative process and my motivations, looking into the future with enthusiasm and happiness, to create new ways to share creativity, to spread the culture of the future , a perfect combination between our heritage and the latest trends. I’m very grateful for the warm welcome to my art and for this unique opportunity. Alliance Française, the best representation of French immensity, diversity, culture and success with more than 140 years of legacy. All my love and gratitude.
Digital art is not a trend, it is the present and the future. My art represents the need to tell stories through captivating and surprising environments in which the viewer can immerse themselves, as is the case with augmented reality. It’s a way to experience a variety of sensations and emotions with my artwork. It also allows me to extend the story and give it a life or lives, as many as I want. It’s also a way of creating more fun and unique environments, involving the viewer in the artwork and letting it grow over time with new stories, locations and characters. This exhibition focuses on creativity and technology to inform, educate and entertain, creating art with multiple uses, explaining new concepts, sharing new ideas and the creative process. Sharing universal message of hope and joy, art and creativity, without generational or physical boundaries. A timeless and useful message.
