Do You Design for Love?

Today there is a constant misunderstanding in human perceptions about being a designer. Especially the people who try to be an artist want to seek fame. But do you think that designing something can be degraded into that small notion? Isn’t it a way to touch upon human soul and to find yourself by revealing your creativity? Wouldn’t you agree with me if I say when you design something, you form yourself at the same time? Shouldn’t you seek for the success that means to create something you love?

We all know that design has been taught to us for years. In this rush of learning the techniques, we sometimes forget the most essential part of a creation, which is imagination. Wordsworth, an important English Romantic poet asserts that the most powerful thing for a person to create something is the imaginative faculty.

Your strokes can be in any form, but the important thing is how you give a breath to these lines. Your key point is how you want to see them. You can copy the leading artists but there will be no “you” if you don’t draw them from your heart. Creativity is the utmost element in your work and it is to be done with the intuition.

Some people define themselves as a designer because it is their work. It is why they wake up at 8:00 a.m.

You can have an art experience in front of a Rembrandt… or in front of a piece of graphic design,Stefan Sagmeister.

The design is to create an artwork, thus art is something so holy that it shouldn’t be achieved with these obligations. Art is something you get to know and believe in yourself more. Nobody creates something perfect in the first stage.

The more you create, the more you’ll be able to see your mistakes. The mistakes are what you’re lack of, what you can’t feel. Designing is to trigger your emotions.

Step by step, you’ll get to establish your individuality. The design is not something that you earn your keep. It is something you earn your self. Every creation carries his creator’s image. Adam carries the spirit of God, each seed comes to life with the life-carrier wind after the fall of the leaves. So, if you call yourself a designer, can you see your breath in your artwork?

Art generally occurs from not what you live but what you desire to live,” John Dewey.

People tend to be shallow, people tend to not understand what you want to tell. Art comes from this desire to be understood. As there’s no limit in art, you draw whatever you want. You show yourself as someone you want to be. We live thanks to our experiences and art. Art is a spiritual experience all of us are after. You, as a creator, are in the same boat with every artist. You walk in the same way with all the designers, writers, painters, poets, sculptors… Everyone gains an aim for themselves as they live through their experiences.

You’re chose to enlighten the human’s perception. You are to be one of them to make people see what they can’t but you can. Get up, and take your pen to show us what you have inside your heart.

“The goal of a designer is to listen, observe, understand, sympathize, empathize, synthesize, and glean insights that enable him or her to ‘make the invisible visible’.” Hillman Curtis

It is beyond any doubt that all of the impressive artworks are created by people who aren’t afraid to show their intimacy. In a society where reflecting ourselves seems a weak point, we should turn it into a source of power and inspiration. It can be hard to do it but not impossible if you get encouraged by your heart.

When you get closer to your source of encouragement; you will be more able to create your art because it exactly comes from your soul. It is not something you’re catching fame. It’s the moment of enjoyment. If you cherish the moment of creation, if you don’t care the idea of being famous, if you think the humanity deserves to see your works, then it’ll give you an identity as an artist.

Briefly stated, art is about feelings. You can’t create something if you don’t feel anything inside your humanity.

Your heart tells your story. You feel every inch of the letters, strokes, lines. You are not simply creating a form or structure. What you are doing is to show your love.

You are implying how much you love all the people that deserve to see your artwork. If they are able to understand you, if you create yourself at the same time, and if you love who you are after all, then there’s no reason not to call you an artist.
